Life’s Education
Not all education happens in schools. There are things you can educate yourself about – without a professor standing in front of you. So, all my dear white friends: Take this time to learn more about (systemic) racism and the Black Lives Matter movement.

Why education?
There are a hundred different things this blog could’ve been about. The corona crisis is affecting so many areas of life – work and unemployment, poverty, essential workers etc. Why am I writing about education, I hear no one ask?

Act II
I didn’t want to go to pandemic New York, but I also didn’t want to mess up my uni career. I panicked about it for a while. But I realized something – it’s pretty obvious, but when you’re anxious, things outside of that can go unnoticed. I’m not alone.

Some Ignorance
Does anyone else feel like they were completely naïve when it came to anything COVID-19-related? Less than two months ago, I was packing my suitcase for my short-term transatlantic move. That version of me was still completely oblivious to everything that was about to happen.

The Beginning
One thing was missing before I could graduate and obtain my MA in journalism: my internship. I was ecstatic to have found a fantastic placement with the foreign correspondence desk in NYC. The internship was supposed to last from April and May… and then corona happened.
